Jack
Jack - chestnut cutter
Quite often there is a need for the petty things in life. For good reasons. Scars on many fingers tell us why....
Nature gave chestnuts a tight skin as a protective seal. That's why there is usually a lot of fumbling when it comes to slitting a chestnut skin.
Jack is the name of the little gadget that puts up with sweet chestnuts’ slippery surface in a safe way.
Just roll-press Jack's serrated blade over the chestnut's bulge, thus getting a clean perforation without injuring nutcore or finger.
Now the notched nuts are ready for being heated in the oven, on the stove-top, or over the open fire. When their sweet odours will reach your nose you may well find the chestnuts' skin already burst.
Once cooled, peeling will be child's play - thanks to Jack.
